AMFI data show debt-oriented mutual funds had ₹1,09,053.65 crore of net outflows in June 2026, led by ₹42,293.29 crore from liquid funds overall.

Open-ended income and debt-oriented mutual fund schemes recorded net outflows of ₹1,09,053.65 crore in June 2026, compared with ₹96,948.51 crore in May 2026, according to AMFI’s monthly reports. Liquid funds had the largest June outflow at ₹42,293.29 crore. These figures measure net subscriptions and redemptions, not investment returns.

What did AMFI report for June 2026?

AMFI’s June 2026 monthly report lists funds mobilised, redemptions and the resulting net inflow or outflow for each scheme category. The subtotal for the 16 open-ended income and debt-oriented categories was a net outflow of ₹1,09,053.65 crore as of 30 June 2026.

The table reproduces selected category values and the debt-category subtotal from AMFI. Categories not shown in the table are included in the subtotal.

How did June compare with May 2026?

AMFI’s May 2026 monthly report records a net outflow of ₹96,948.51 crore from the same open-ended income and debt-oriented subtotal. June’s outflow was therefore ₹12,105.14 crore larger than May’s, calculated by subtracting the May figure from the June figure.

That month-to-month difference establishes what changed in the reported flows. The reports do not, by themselves, establish why investors redeemed units, whether the transactions were made by companies or individuals, or whether the money later returned. Those questions require separate investor-level evidence and should not be inferred from the category totals.

What do these flow figures show—and not show?

A net-flow number is the difference between money mobilised and repurchases or redemptions during the month. In June, AMFI reported ₹13,56,363.39 crore mobilised and ₹14,65,417.04 crore redeemed across the open-ended income and debt-oriented subtotal, producing the ₹1,09,053.65 crore net outflow.

The data do not say that a fund’s net asset value fell by the amount of the outflow. Nor do they show an investor’s return, portfolio credit quality, interest-rate sensitivity or tax position. Those require fund-specific portfolio and performance records.

How should the headline be read?

The headline is an industry-flow statement for June 2026. It should not be treated as a direction to enter or exit a debt-fund category. Readers comparing debt categories need to examine each scheme’s stated mandate, maturity profile, credit exposure, costs and their own time horizon separately from one month’s aggregate subscriptions and redemptions.

For general context, see the mutual-funds section. The source figures in this report are historical AMFI data as of 30 June 2026 and may be followed by different flows in later monthly reports.
