Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure
Running SmartMoneyReport — research, data, tools, and journalism — costs money. We keep the site free by earning revenue in the ways described below. This page explains exactly how, so you can judge our content with full context.
1. How We Make Money
- Display advertising. Some pages show ads served by advertising networks. Advertisers do not influence editorial content.
- Affiliate links. Some pages contain links to financial products — for example demat accounts, credit cards, loans, or insurance. If you click such a link and sign up or are approved for a product, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- Memberships. Readers can support us directly through paid memberships.
2. What Affiliate Links Do NOT Change
- Our rankings, ratings, and reviews are not affected by whether a product pays us. Rules-based scores (like the SmartMoney Score) follow published methodologies that contain no commercial inputs.
- We recommend categories and explain trade-offs; we do not hide better non-paying alternatives.
- A product appearing on this site is not an endorsement of its suitability for you.
3. How You Will Know
Pages containing affiliate links carry a disclosure notice near the top of the page. Sponsored or partner content, if any, is clearly labelled “Sponsored.”
4. Our Promise
If we ever face a conflict between reader interest and revenue, reader interest wins. If you believe any content on this site is biased by a commercial relationship, tell us — we treat such reports as priority corrections under our Editorial Policy.
